Creativity, Skills and Outdoor Fun for Class 3 and Class 4
Class 3 and Class 4 at Blessed John Duckett Catholic Primary School, Tow Law enjoyed another fantastic set of sessions in Forest School, embracing hands‑on learning and outdoor exploration in our beautiful woodland environment.
Whittling and Woodcraft
The children have been practising their whittling skills, learning how to work safely and carefully with tools. This activity helps build fine‑motor control, patience and confidence — all while creating something with their own hands.
Making Spinners
One of the highlights of the week was making wooden spinners. The children loved designing, shaping and testing their creations, discovering how movement, shape and speed change the way their spinners work. A brilliant mix of creativity and STEM learning!
Den Building
Forest School wouldn’t be complete without some imaginative den building. Working together, the children constructed shelters using natural materials, showing excellent teamwork and problem‑solving skills. Their enthusiasm and determination made the woodland come alive with activity.
Warming Up With Hot Chocolate
After a busy and chilly session outdoors, everyone gathered for a well‑deserved warm hot chocolate, giving the children a chance to rest, chat and enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the forest.
